What you will do

• Set the technical direction for the European engineering organization through clear roadmaps and architectural planning.
• Remain hands-on with high-leverage projects, prototyping, and resolving complex technical challenges.
• Own technical excellence by establishing high standards for design reviews, code quality, and system reliability.
• Partner with Engineering Managers and Product Managers to define strategy and translate goals into execution.
• Collaborate with US-based platform teams to align European engineering with global infrastructure investments.

Requirements

• Strong programming expertise in Go or Python.
• Proven track record of operating and scaling high-availability systems in production.
• Experience delegating effectively to enable senior engineers to own technical domains.
• Strong product engineering instinct and ability to make complex architectural tradeoffs.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model in London.

Nice to have

• Deep experience in payments infrastructure or processing.
• Background in fintech or financial infrastructure like credit, lending, or identity.
• Experience with open banking APIs and bank connectivity patterns.
• Familiarity working across time zones with distributed engineering teams.
