Privacy Counsel

TL;DR

Privacy Counsel (Legal/Privacy): Strengthen and support the global privacy and AI governance function by drafting and negotiating privacy and AI contracts, developing policies, and advising business and legal teams. With an accent on global privacy laws and AI governance standards. Focus on interpreting complex legal requirements, managing multinational compliance, and collaborating across multiple time zones.

Location: Hybrid role based in Cork, Ireland with 2 days a week onsite requirement

What you will do

• Advise on data processing agreements, standard contractual clauses, and AI terms
• Draft and maintain privacy notices, policies, and procedures
• Provide expert advice on global privacy and AI governance laws to legal and business teams
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple regions including US, Europe, and Asia
• Support privacy and AI governance compliance programs and training initiatives
• Conduct legal research and keep up to date with emerging privacy and AI regulations

Requirements

• Must be qualified lawyer admitted to practice in a relevant jurisdiction
• 5+ years post-qualification experience in privacy/data protection law, preferably in multinational tech
• Deep knowledge of global privacy laws and AI governance standards including GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, LGPD, PIPL, and EU AI Act
• Excellent judgment, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities under deadlines
• Willingness to travel occasionally
