Senior Product Manager (Technical)

TL;DR

Senior Product Manager (Technical): Own and drive the product and technical strategy for identity, authentication, and payment systems within Acuity Scheduling. With an accent on data architecture, systems design, and service-oriented architecture. Focus on designing scalable, secure systems and collaborating cross-functionally to align technical and product goals.

Location: Hybrid role based in Aveiro, Portugal, working 3 days per week onsite

What you will do

• Act as primary product owner setting roadmap and priorities balancing technical feasibility, user impact, and business goals.
• Collaborate with engineering to define scalable technical strategies focused on data architecture and service-based solutions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including data science and UX to deliver balanced solutions.
• Work with Identity and Security teams to develop a unified identity and authentication system.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders including senior leadership.
• Ensure system stability, security, and performance through continuous improvement and architectural oversight.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or near Aveiro, Portugal with hybrid work onsite 3 days per week
• 4-6 years experience in product management or technical product ownership, preferably in data-driven or identity-centric roles.
• Strong technical expertise in data architecture, systems design, microservices, and API integration.
• Proven systems thinking and experience with component-based architectures and data warehousing.
• Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.

Nice to have

• Experience leading technical transformation from monolithic to service-oriented architectures.
• High-level understanding of user registration flows and OAuth related to identity.
• Experience documenting technical architecture and system dependencies.
