TL;DR
Principal Software Engineer (Data): Building and operating core conversion and attribution capabilities for advertising effectiveness measurement and ad delivery optimization with an accent on the generation, interpretation, and delivery of conversion signals. Focus on driving continuous expansion of signal coverage, evolution of measurement logic, and systematic improvements in system reliability under complex business constraints.
Location: Suzhou, China. Employees who live within a 25-mile commute of the Suzhou office are expected to work from the office at least four days per week starting January 26, 2026.

What you will do
- Provide critical technical leadership across conversion and attribution initiatives.
- Drive the continuous expansion of conversion signal coverage and evolution of measurement logic.
- Implement systematic improvements in system reliability and platform stability.
- Balance measurement accuracy, platform stability, and long-term extensibility under complex business constraints.
- Collaborate with product, modeling, and engineering partners to deliver scalable conversion and attribution capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience.
- Proficient in coding with C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Solid experience shipping high performance C#, Java, or equivalent language code software.
- Quick learning, solid problem solving and debugging skills.
- Fluent in English (both oral and written).
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Nice to have
- Understanding of distributed system and data parallel computing.
- Data processing or analytics experience with Spark, Flink, Kafka, or Azure Data Lake.
- Domain knowledge of ads, search or content services.
- Experience designing mission critical data pipelines with SLA commitment.
