We are looking for a Senior Database Engineer specializing in query processing and execution optimization to work on a PostgreSQL-based analytical platform operating in a distributed MPP environment.
This role focuses on improving execution plans, optimizer logic, and analytical performance of complex SQL workloads.
This is not a general backend position. We are specifically looking for engineers who have worked on database engines or query execution frameworks.

Responsibilities
• Design and improve query planning and execution strategies
• Work on cost-based optimizer logic
• Analyze and optimize execution plans for analytical SQL workloads
• Improve performance in distributed MPP environments
• Contribute to execution engine enhancements
• Collaborate closely with engine and distributed systems teams

Required Experience
• Strong understanding of query processing and execution engines
• Experience working on database internals (not just using databases)
• 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, Greenplum, ClickHouse, Oracle, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar systems
• Deep knowledge of execution plans and cost-based optimizers
• Strong analytical and algorithmic backgrounD
• Experience with MPP / Data Warehouse systems
• PostgreSQL internals experience
• Contributions to database engines or research-based systems
