TL;DR

Software Development Engineer (Fintech): Building and optimizing reliable payment products by leveraging Open Banking AIS with an accent on enhancing existing products and exploring new opportunities. Focus on designing scalable systems, improving payment experiences with data, and raising the technical bar through clean architecture.

Location: Hybrid in Riga, Latvia. Work from anywhere for up to 90 days in any 12-month period is available.

Salary: €4,000–€6,000 gross monthly

What you will do

  • Improve Payment products using Open Banking Account Information Services (AIS).
  • Enhance existing products and explore new customer outcome and user experience opportunities.
  • Own work end-to-end, from discovery to delivery, making a measurable impact.
  • Build products that scale with a focus on reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
  • Use data to improve payments, reduce friction, and unlock smarter payment capabilities.
  • Collaborate with teams to solve problems and make pragmatic decisions.

Requirements

  • Ability to build and maintain Ruby on Rails applications in production, working across the stack.
  • Proficiency in building modern frontend applications using JavaScript (ReactJS).
  • Understanding of backend technologies like Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and REST APIs.
  • Strong JavaScript fundamentals (ES6+), CSS (grid, flexbox, custom properties), and modern browser patterns.
  • Adaptability to new technologies and processes, with ability to work through ambiguity.
  • Initiative in solving problems, digging into root causes, and improving systems.
