What you will do

• Create stylized real-time VFX to support systemic gameplay and player feedback.
• Develop effects for UI and various gameplay moments like selections and environment interactions.
• Collaborate with design and art to define and maintain a cohesive VFX language.
• Implement and iterate on in-engine effects, balancing quality with performance.
• Research references, mood boards, and prototypes for new VFX directions.

Requirements

• Ability to quickly deliver and iterate on VFX concepts based on feedback.
• Strong understanding of core VFX principles (timing, anticipation, readability).
• Comfort with real-time constraints (performance awareness, optimization basics).
• Professional feedback skills.
• Portfolio/reel showcasing varied VFX work (game VFX preferred).
• Complete or near-complete undergraduate college experience in an art-related subject, intensive training, or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unreal Engine and Niagara.
• Experience creating textures, spritesheets, flipbooks, shaders, or lightweight animation.
• Experience creating user interface VFX.
• Passion for bringing new voices and perspectives to work.
