What you will do

  • Design, model, and texture high-quality 3D assets (characters, environments, props) for VR projects.
  • Optimize assets for real-time performance while maintaining visual integrity.
  • Integrate 3D assets into the engine, ensuring proper lighting, shaders, materials, and LODs.
  • Collaborate with game designers, developers, and other artists to maintain artistic consistency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to visual fidelity, performance, and asset implementation in Unity.
  • Stay current with industry trends and new technologies to push the visual boundaries of our projects.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) a Game Design, Digital Art, or Computer Science program.
  • A compelling portfolio showcasing your best student or personal projects.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and a reliable internet connection for our remote setup.
  • Proven expertise in either Unity or Unreal, including asset pipeline, lighting, materials, and optimization.
  • Strong experience with lighting and set dressing to create mood, atmosphere, and visually compelling scenes within the engine.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max) and texturing tools (e.g., Substance Painter, Photoshop).
  • Strong understanding of PBR workflows, UV mapping, and baking techniques.

Nice to have

  • Experience with shader creation or visual scripting.
  • Background in lighting environments and set dressing.
  • Background in character creation, animation or rigging.
  • Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git, Perforce).
