Summer Intern, Signal Processing Embedded Software Engineer

TL;DR

Summer Intern, Signal Processing Embedded Software Engineer (Embedded Systems): Working in support of signal processing algorithm development for audio and/or battery power systems with an accent on laboratory experimentation, data collection, and analysis. Focus on writing MATLAB simulation code and documenting designed algorithms for real-time embedded systems.

Location: Hybrid, must be based within commutable distance of Austin, Texas, USA, or willing to relocate there prior to beginning the internship. Interns should expect to be in the office up to 5 days per week. Due to export control restrictions, candidates must be able to access technical data without an export license.

What you will do

• Conduct experiments and collect data in real-life or acoustical/battery test lab environments.
• Document created test methods and educate colleagues on test procedures.
• Write MATLAB simulation code for the investigation of algorithms.
• Document designed algorithms and present findings to research, development, and Marketing teams.

Requirements

• M.S. candidate specializing in signal processing (e.g., electrical engineering).
• Matlab fluency.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and organization.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. candidate specializing in signal processing.
• Python fluency.
• C programming experience.
• Experience conducting experiments and collecting data in a laboratory.
• Familiarity with pro audio equipment.
• Familiarity with equipment used in power systems (e.g., battery cyclers).
• Elementary electrical circuit analysis.
