QA Engineer (Payments)

What you will do

• Manually validate new features, fixes, and hotfixes across Web UI and APIs.
• Perform risk-based testing to define scope and identify residual risks, especially for financial or customer impact.
• Execute API and end-to-end validation using tools like Postman/Newman, verifying REST APIs, async flows, and webhooks.
• Conduct data validation in PostgreSQL, understanding state transitions, idempotency, and retries.
• Own and continuously improve regression and smoke suites for critical payment routes.
• Convert production incidents into new regression cases or monitoring checks.

Requirements

• 3+ years in QA with strong manual testing fundamentals.
• Strong API testing skills (Postman/Newman, curl, Swagger/OpenAPI).
• Practical understanding of payment concepts: auth vs capture, refunds, webhooks, idempotency, retries.
• Basic SQL (PostgreSQL) for validating records and state transitions.
• Experience with logs/monitoring tools (Grafana, Kibana/ELK, Sentry) and comfort in a Kanban / continuous delivery environment.
• Good English (written + spoken) for remote async work.

Nice to have

• Experience with PSPs (Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, Braintree, Worldpay) and 3DS flows.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks (pytest, Playwright) and CI.
• Understanding of network tokenisation.
