Network Development Engineer (Devops): Responsible for building and operating the network infrastructure to invent, refine and develop automation and mechanisms to reduce manual operations. Focus on delivering sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, optimising and removing bottlenecks.

What you will do

• Lead network projects in network sustaining engineering, deployment/implementation, scaling, technology refresh, best practices application, and/or network optimization.
• Influence operations, responding to customer impact events and requests, troubleshooting, and improving network automation.
• Analyse the network using tools and metrics to ensure it operates correctly, safely, and securely.
• Investigate technical issues scientifically, and assist in fixing complex problems.
• Plan, deliver and simplify new systems, processes, and tools to better deliver for customers.
• Develop ways of safely implementing new and upcoming networking systems into the environment.

Requirements

• Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols.
• Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting.
• Experience in major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF.
• Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos.
• Must be a national of an EU member state.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, COBIT) and operational excellence concepts or methodologies.
• Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures.
• Experience with Unix and scripting in Perl, shell, C or C++.
• Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem and work towards resolution.
