🦄 Description
Saguni Studio is developing an ambitious Anime Action RPG for PC and Mobile. The core combat foundation is already implemented, and we are looking for a Senior Unreal Engine Gameplay Developer to expand, refine, and productionize these systems in close collaboration with the Design team.
We follow a strongly data-driven development approach. You will take ownership of evolving combat systems, building scalable gameplay architecture, and ensuring systems are clean, maintainable, and ready for production.
🚀 Responsibilities
• Extend and evolve existing combat systems based on clear design requirements
• Implement new combat features and iterate on existing mechanics including tuning, balancing tools, and gameplay feedback loops
• Build and maintain data-driven gameplay structures such as DataAssets, DataTables, GameplayTags, or project-specific equivalents
• Deliver clean, maintainable C++ implementations focused on scalability and content extensibility
• Collaborate closely with Design, Animation, VFX, and UI teams to enable fast iteration
• Debug, profile, and stabilize gameplay-critical systems
• Support multiplayer readiness and replication where required
📚 Required Skills
• Strong Unreal Engine 5 gameplay programming experience in C++
• Proven experience with data-driven gameplay architectures and content pipelines
• Solid understanding of action combat mechanics including timing, hit detection, state machines, cancels, recovery, invulnerability frames, and telegraphed attacks
• Multiplayer experience with replication and understanding of networked combat pitfalls
• Ability to translate design documentation into robust, production-ready systems
• Clean coding practices, strong debugging skills, and strong ownership mentality
• Comfortable with remote collaboration and proactive communication
👍 Nice to Have
• Experience with Action RPG combat systems
• UI experience in Unreal including UMG or CommonUI for gameplay and debug interfaces
• Experience with Unit Tests and Automation Tests in Unreal
• Experience optimizing gameplay systems for mobile performance including CPU budgets, tick cost, garbage collection, and LOD strategies
