Lead Backend Developer (Go): Coming up with architecture and programming in Go for JoomPro's cross-border B2B marketplace, providing fault tolerance for services in an AWS environment, and managing/mentoring a backend team with an accent on scalability for constantly increasing data loads and volumes. Focus on ensuring system reliability, participating in new feature development, and leading team growth.

Location: Lisbon, Portugal. The role is office-first with a possibility to work remotely 52 days per year. Full relocation assistance to Portugal is provided.

Salary: €8,000/month before taxes

What you will do

• Architect and program in Go.
• Ensure fault tolerance for services in an AWS environment.
• Scale systems for increasing data loads and volumes.
• Participate in new feature and product development discussions.
• Manage and mentor a backend team (3–6 developers).

Requirements

• Experience leading and developing a backend team (recruiting, hiring, training).
• Confident knowledge of any of the programming languages: Go, Java, Kotlin, C++, Python, or Scala.
• Complex project development experience.
• Excellent algorithmic training.
• Experience in development for Linux/Unix.

Nice to have

• Experience with highload systems.
• Experience with MongoDB.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
