Asset Supervisor

TL;DR

Asset Supervisor: Overseeing the technical and creative delivery of assets for animated features and series with an accent on guiding artists, identifying potential issues, and improving workflows. Focus on modelling, rigging, surfacing, and maintaining strong communication across departments.

Location: Hybrid in Sydney, New South Wales. Must be open to relocate to Sydney. Sponsorship and relocation assistance available.

What you will do

• Direct, inspire, and mentor Modelling, Rigging, and Surfacing artists.
• Assign work based on artists' strengths and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify and flag issues impacting asset delivery within the production schedule.
• Develop and work within pipeline constraints, providing feedback for workflow improvements.
• Maintain strong communication and work to verbal or visual briefs.

Requirements

• Previous Asset Supervisor experience in VFX or animated features.
• Well-rounded experience in modeling & surfacing.
• Substantial experience with Maya, Mari, and Katana in a production environment.
• Excellent technical knowledge of geometry, topology, UV layout, textures, and shaders.
• Excellent communication & leadership skills.
• Proven track record of creating immersive environments and characters.
• Solid knowledge of modelling and surfacing workflows, with ability to resolve issues interactively with downstream departments.
