Focus on strategic leadership with hands-on involvement, providing technical guidance and coaching where needed.

Location: Based in Austria and willingness to work on-site in Vienna on a regular basis

Salary: €80,000 and €90,000

What you will do

• Lead and develop the Data Science function with a strong focus on impact, quality, and scalability.
• Define and drive the strategic and technological vision for Data Science at hirify.global.
• Take end-to-end ownership of Data Science outcomes, priorities, and quality standards, ensuring alignment with company strategy and measurable business impact.
• Act as a senior interface between Data Science, Product, Engineering, Sales, and Executive Management.
• Advance the use of machine learning, predictive models, recommendation systems, and LLM-based solutions.
• Foster agile, autonomous teams aligned with company-wide goals.

Requirements

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Science or a similar role.
• Strong experience in leading teams and shaping data-driven organizations.
• Solid technical foundation in Machine Learning, predictive modelling, and modern AI systems.
• Experience with cloud-first data and ML platforms and scalable architectures.
• Based in Austria and willingness to work on-site in Vienna on a regular basis
• Fluent in English (German is a plus)
