TL;DR

Senior Backend Engineer (Go): Building and optimizing high-load backend services for a distributed data platform with an accent on API design, database performance, and scalability. Focus on microservices architecture, solving complex concurrency challenges, and ensuring system reliability under heavy traffic.

Location: This position can be based in Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia, Spain. In-office attendance is expected in the Valencia office approximately 3 days per month. You can work remotely up to 120 days within the EU, UK, and Switzerland, including 30 days outside the EU.

What you will do

• Ensure the productivity and resilience of infrastructure, including monitoring and observability.
• Standardize processes and build automation for data pipeline onboarding, deployment, and failure recovery.
• Collaborate closely with the SRE team to ensure developer productivity and CI/CD adoption.
• Craft and operate services, infrastructure, and tools to enable batch and streaming pipelines running on Kubernetes and GCP.
• Solution architect and deliver company-wide technical topics with a forward-looking vision aligned with the multi-year roadmap.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend development.
• Experience in development, administration, operation, and troubleshooting of sophisticated, large-scale systems running on Kubernetes.
• Strong proficiency in Go and a practitioner of system design, architecture, and development best practices.
• Ability to break down challenges into modular, scalable solutions and bridge the gap between technology and business.
• Strong analytical mindset and a genuine curiosity to experiment and test changes.
