Principal Software Development Engineer

TL;DR

Principal Software Development Engineer (Fullstack): Building the future for hirify.global’s public web presence and customer shopping experience, contributing to solutions used throughout the hirify.global engineering ecosystem and across multiple brands with an accent on system-level integrations, transaction coordination, and rollback strategies. Focus on delivering well-factored, well-tested, and reusable code and driving technical solutions and architecture across multiple engineering teams.

Location: Remote. You may occasionally visit a hirify.global office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

Salary: $153,500.00 – $230,500.00 CAD

What you will do

• Set the technical direction of highly visible cross-organizational initiatives.
• Mentor, lead, and influence engineers to ensure the success of collaborative solutions.
• Write efficient, maintainable code, validated with unit and integration tests.
• Perform code reviews that reinforce a high standard of quality and engineering excellence.
• Contribute to Open Source projects related to the tech stack and domain of our products.

Requirements

• Experience in all aspects of software engineering lifecycles.
• Proven experience mentoring and assisting team members grow their expertise and ability.
• Strong understanding of the fundamentals of core web technologies: JavaScript (ES2015+), HTTP/2, CDNs, and working with multiple caching layers.
• Experience with React and/or Node.js.
• Consistent track record of delivering modern web service-based architecture (REST, GraphQL, etc).
• Experience with Cloud Platforms (such as AWS), CICD Pipelines (such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions), Kubernetes.

Nice to have

• Experience developing or working with headless Content Management Systems (CMS) (such as ContentStack or Contentful).
• Experience with experimentation strategies such as A/B or multiple variant testing.
• Demonstrated cross-functional capabilities (Marketing, Engineering, Product Management).
• Experience managing or contributing to Open Source is a plus.
