Game Designer Intern

TL;DR

Game Designer Intern: Designing and iterating on gameplay features for an online cooperative game with an accent on creating content that fits the game's theme and narration. Focus on generating level design blocks for procedural generation and collaborating on game direction.

Location: Fully remote work is possible. Physical meetings are held two days each month in Charleroi, Belgium; transportation costs can be covered if you choose to join.

What you will do

• Design and iterate on gameplay features.
• Create content that fits the global intention of the game, its theme, and narration.
• Write clear documentation for the team.
• Create level design blocks used in procedural generation.
• Collaborate with all team members and assist in deciding the game’s direction.

Requirements

• Solid knowledge of game design theory.
• Proactive in proposing design solutions to art and technical problems.
• Strong analytical skills to understand why a design works or doesn’t.
• Good written and oral expression in English (all documentation is written in English).
• Must be a student in game design.

Nice to have

• Experience with multiplayer or cooperative games.
• Capability of prototyping “quick and dirty” on Unity to iterate on and validate designs.
• Knowledge of collaborative tools like Discord, Notion, HacknPlan, Plastic SCM.
