Location: Remote (Australia) or Hybrid (Melbourne, AU). Requires the ability to work core hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm AEST or 10:00am - 6:00pm AEDT.

What you will do

• Serve as an expert on Defense, Military Affairs, and geopolitical developments to improve AI models.
• Monitor and analyze data feed quality.
• Annotate and label complex real-time events, making decisions with incomplete data.
• Own and develop projects to improve AI model performance and tooling in real-time event detection.
• Collaborate and communicate about daily priorities in a team-centric environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Defense/Strategic Studies, political science, security/conflict studies, or a closely related field.
• Ability to monitor and analyze data with strong online research skills in English.
• Understanding of geopolitical risk and world events.
• Passion for breaking news, current world events, social media, and publicly-available data.
• Ability to interpret and succinctly describe ongoing, complex events with incomplete data.
• Fluency with AI tools and LLMs, and experience using them to solve problems and improve workflows.
• Enthusiastic approach to innovation and strategic thinking.
• Must be able to work rotational weekend work as well as projects and meetings outside of business hours.
