TL;DR

Technical Game Designer (Space Engineers 2): Implementing and executing designed systems and content for Space Engineers 2 with an accent on turning ideas into functional, balanced, and enjoyable gameplay. Focus on implementing game content using internal editors, balancing gameplay values, and configuring various game elements.

Location: Remote (Europe) or onsite in Prague. Candidates must be located within European time zones.

hirify.global is a product company developing the technically ambitious sandbox engineering game Space Engineers 2.

What you will do

  • Implement game content using internal editors and tools (VRAGE3 engine).
  • Set up blocks, create templates, configure sub-parts, dummies, and basic animations.
  • Balance gameplay values such as ore spawning rates, economy costs, contract rewards, and random loot.
  • Configure localization strings, set up screens, menus, and populate them with content.
  • Create and balance encounters and contracts, and destruction/damage systems.
  • Contribute to feature and system design, and support UX/UI design.

Requirements

  • Strong experience (at least 5 years) in game design (PC/console), preferably on complex, systems-driven games.
  • Proven ability to implement content using editors and internal tools.
  • Good understanding of gameplay balance and player experience.
  • High attention to detail and quality, and ability to work with evolving systems.
  • Strong familiarity with Space Engineers from a player’s perspective.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and self-organize tasks under pressure and deadlines.
  • English: B2 required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Jira or similar project management tools.
  • Experience with Perforce or similar version control systems.
  • Experience working with various game engines, including custom ones.
