What you will do

• Lead technical build, configuration, and management of IPP and BTnet test models.
• Perform risk assessment, testing, and deployment approval for network designs, configurations, and code changes.
• Evolve platform design to meet future needs, collaborating with the Design Authority.
• Design and deploy models for IPP and BTnet, working with UK Fabric and IP Connect.
• Execute E2E testing, including automation and development of test frameworks.
• Build Proof of Concept models and rapid prototypes in response to business needs.

Requirements

• Engineering leadership and hands-on experience in test model design and deployment.
• Proficiency in established routing and switching protocols (BGP and MPLS-VPNs).
• Systematic problem-solving approach, with strong debugging, optimization, and automation skills for test cases and routine tasks.
• Ability to manage test defects through the full life-cycle.
• Demonstrable understanding of different testing types (Unit, Integration, Functional, End-2-End, User Acceptance).
• Ability to translate test requirements into test environment topologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with NFV deployments and data modelling with YANG.
• Hands-on experience with test tools and throughput generators (Ixia IxNetwork, Spirent Test Center).
• Experience with CI/CD methodologies (Robot, Gitlab, BDD).
• Demonstrable experience with Python programming language and Jinja2 templating.
• Cisco and/or Juniper Certification or vendor equivalent experience.
