Software Engineer

Location: This position is 100% remote anywhere in the US.

What you will do

• Develop high‑quality software using hirify.global’s established development processes, tools, and best practices.
• Participate in team‑based design and code reviews to identify issues early in the development lifecycle.
• Estimate the effort required for small to moderate development tasks.
• Take proactive steps to anticipate and prevent customer‑impacting issues.
• Diagnose and debug software issues using appropriate tools and techniques to identify root causes efficiently.
• Document and present software functionality, designs, and implementation details for internal review.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 2 to 8 years of relevant experience
• You have experience with the following programming languages: C, CL and SQL
• You have the ability to analyze simple to moderate programming problems and create algorithms and programming solutions.
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of IBM system i
• Knowledge of High Availability concepts and hirify.global IBM i High Availability products
• IBM i programming experience
• IBM DB2 knowledge
• Java and CL knowledge a plus
• Ability to effectively program for IBM i performance critical applications
