AlumniHub is building an independent research lab focused on rethinking how complex systems are modeled and predicted, starting with financial markets.

What you will do

• Join a research lab under the supervision of a Professor at the Université de Montréal (UdeM) and MILA.
• Own and shape core research agenda for foundation models for markets.
• Design and train multimodal models, defining architectures, data strategies, and training objectives.
• Scale large models efficiently across multi-GPU setups, building distributed training pipelines.
• Conduct augmented data research, generating synthetic data pipelines and integrating them into training.
• Work at the frontier of real-world ML with freedom to define problems and test ideas.

Requirements

• MS/PhD (or equivalent) in mathematics or computer science required.
• 2+ years of experience in large foundational models research required.
• Track record taking models from prototype to scaled training and production inference required.
• Strong publication record (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR) required.

Nice to have

• Experience in trading or hedge funds.
