Senior Legal Counsel (SaaS)

Location: This role is based in-person at our office in sunny Brisbane, Australia.

What you will do

• Own and negotiate enterprise SaaS agreements (MSAs, DPAs, SLAs, SOWs).
• Lead legal aspects of data protection and privacy (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA).
• Support board governance, corporate housekeeping, and cap table matters.
• Manage employment-related legal issues with HR (contracts, policies, disputes).
• Identify legal risks early and propose pragmatic solutions.
• Act as the primary interface with external counsel and control legal spend.

Requirements

• Experience at a top-tier law firm and at least one in-house SaaS or tech role.
• Strong background in enterprise SaaS commercial contracting.
• Comfort as a sole legal contributor initially, operating with ambiguity and building from zero.
• Ability to balance risk with business velocity.
