TL;DR

Staff Software Engineer (AI): Designing and implementing the Agentic AI Platform, the orchestration layer enabling autonomous agents to execute complex security workflows with an accent on distributed systems, state machines, and generative model transformation. Focus on building multi-agent workflows, scalable orchestration engines, and ensuring agent reliability and security within an enterprise infrastructure.

Location: Hybrid, must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. and unable to provide sponsorship for work visas. Work from home majority of the time with occasional in-person meetings in California - Bay Area.

Salary: $188,000–$250,666.67 USD

What you will do

• Architect and implement backend services for multi-agent workflows.
• Design scalable workflow engines and human-in-the-loop systems for long-running investigations.
• Integrate Python-based AI frameworks with JVM-based microservices architecture.
• Implement verification layers and security guardrails for deterministic agent operation.
• Build advanced RAG pipelines and "Tool Use" capabilities for data synthesis.
• Collaborate with researchers and product leads to define the AI orchestration roadmap.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong background in building backend systems, APIs, and platforms.
• Hands-on experience building AI agents and autonomous workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or Pydantic AI.
• Strong programming skills in Python with experience in, or a willingness to work with, JVM-based languages (Java, Kotlin, or Scala).
• Experience designing event-driven architectures, managing concurrency, and building fault-tolerant services (e.g., using Kafka, gRPC, REST).
• Proficiency with Relational Databases (PostgreSQL) and experience with Vector Databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus) or search engines (Elasticsearch).
• Experience designing frameworks to evaluate agent performance (accuracy, latency, cost) and implementing CI/CD for AI workflows.
• Experience deploying and scaling services in AWS using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Knowledge Graphs or advanced search algorithms to improve agent reasoning.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
