Location: Remote from California, Georgia, Texas, Oregon, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York (Outside NYC), Colorado, Washington (USA) or Canada.

Salary: $30–$70/hour

What you will do

• Support asset and modeling artists in creating textures for characters, props, vehicles, and environments.
• Assist the lookdev team in creating base and unique texture maps for different comp/lighting setups.
• Develop and implement processes to accelerate texture creation for other artists.
• Communicate with leads and supervisors to create textures for key assets.
• Track and update tasks on Shotgrid.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of Substance Painter, specifically using filters and generators to hold 3D model form.
• Expert knowledge of baking maps (AO, normal, shadow, curvature) to accentuate asset style.
• Proficiency in both Substance Painter and Photoshop, knowing when to transition between them.
• Knowledge of modern 3D packages (Maya, Blender), UVs, UDIMs, and the 3D pipeline.
• Good understanding of colors and values.
• Experience in games or film with an emphasis on stylized characters, props, and creatures.
• Work authorization for the US or Canada is required.

Nice to have

• Ability to paint in 2D.
• Experience with Substance Designer.
• Experience with Unreal Engine.
