TL;DR
System Engineer (Unix): Managing and maintaining Unix/Linux operating systems and infrastructure for customer satisfaction, with an accent on incident/change management, system monitoring, and proactive service improvement. Focus on ensuring system availability, deploying patches, and collaborating with third-party partners.
Location: Onsite in Bangalore, India (24x7 cover required)

What you will do
- Handle incidents, changes, and configurations within agreed SLAs and OLAs.
- Ensure effective, proactive monitoring and management of systems.
- Deploy patches and upgrades to non-production and production environments.
- Liaise with third-party partners to resolve incidents and problems.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and availability.
- Maintain detailed UNIX knowledge base documentation.
Requirements
- Experience with RedHat Linux (versions 6, 7, and 8)
- Proficiency in Oracle Solaris 10 and 11, HP UX/AIX, Veritas Cluster, and VMware
- Exposure to Azure/AWS cloud environments
- Strong SAN experience on RedHat and Solaris (HDS/HP)
- Excellent shell scripting (bash) skills
- Superb interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) for clear communication with management and leadership
- Must be able to work 24x7 onsite cover, including Saturday/Sunday shifts.
Nice to have
- Experience with HP/Dell blades & rack servers.
- Familiarity with Rubrik/NetBackup, LDAP, and RPM packaging.
- Scripting knowledge in Perl or Python.
- Experience with Ansible.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow ITSM.
