Senior Platform Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Platform Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes): Designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines with an accent on embedding security by design and improving developer experience. Focus on microservices architecture, CI/CD, and ensuring reliability and security of cloud-first environments.

Location: Leeds, UK (Hybrid - 3 days a week in office)

Salary: £55,000–£70,000 per annum

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform.
• Develop and operate CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and manage Kubernetes deployments with Argo CD.
• Build and maintain platform tooling to enhance developer experience, reliability, and security.
• Implement and operate monitoring, logging, and alerting using the Elastic stack.
• Embed security into the platform and delivery pipelines (shift-left security).
• Collaborate with application, security, and SRE teams to troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvements.

Requirements

• Strong experience as a Platform, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineer.
• Hands-on AWS experience in production environments.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes and modern deployment patterns.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• Practical experience with cloud and container security.
• Infrastructure-as-code mindset and strong automation skills.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally and owning shared platforms.
• Required to work from the Leeds office 3 days a week.

Nice to have

• Experience with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Familiarity with SRE principles and reliability engineering.
• Security certifications or deep interest in cloud security.
