Foundations Designer, Design Systems

TL;DR

Foundations Designer (Design Systems): Designing and maintaining visual asset systems across hirify.global's brand portfolio, focusing on icons, illustrations, motion, and tokens. Focus on building systems that other designers use, keeping design foundations aligned with production, and using AI tools to optimize design processes and workflows.

Location: This role requires you to commute to our Berlin office three times a week.

What you will do

• Design and maintain visual asset systems (icons, illustrations, supporting assets) across hirify.global's brand portfolio.
• Contribute to our motion language, including interaction patterns and timing principles.
• Support the definition and management of design tokens across brands like hirify.global and momondo.
• Partner with engineering to keep design foundations aligned with production.
• Build and maintain Figma libraries using best practices for components, properties, and documentation.
• Work with product pods and embedded designers on contribution models, creating clear paths for adoption, feedback, and iteration.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a product design organization.
• Experience building and shipping scalable icon or illustration systems.
• Experience contributing to or owning motion systems, including reusable patterns and reduced-motion guidance.
• Strong Figma proficiency, including components, properties, variables, and library architecture.
• A working understanding of design tokens and how they map to code and component APIs.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to optimize design processes and workflows.
