Salary: $120,000 - $170,000 per year

What you will do

• Create highly reliable software systems to control hundreds of satellites in low Earth orbit.
• Leverage software design to improve satellite constellation performance, security, and availability.
• Oversee the software lifecycle from initial needs to prototyping, development, testing, and on-orbit rollout.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and build next-generation satellite capabilities.
• Write high-quality Linux-based C++ software for common processors and microcontrollers.
• Implement networking technologies to direct data across satellites, ground operations centers, and users.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline; OR 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Development experience in C, C++, or Python, or fullstack software development experience.
• Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, Refugee, or Asylee to conform to U.S. Government export regulations (ITAR).

Nice to have

• Developed and deployed software in real-world applications and projects.
• Solid fundamental knowledge of computer architecture and networks.
• Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing.
• Experience with networking protocols (TCP, UDP).
• Experience developing in the Linux kernel or C++ for high-performance systems.
• Experience with image data processing and machine learning.
