What you will do

• Architect and implement physics-based battery models using PyBaMM.
• Bridge theoretical equations with production-grade software code.
• Leverage model insights to accelerate R&D and reduce costs.
• Analyze electrochemical data to build, parameterize, and apply numerical models.
• Support infrastructure development for physics-based models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share knowledge.

Requirements

• BSc (preferably MSc/PhD candidate) or equivalent research experience in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Strong experience using PyBaMM (Python Battery Mathematical Modeling) is required.
• Mastery of Python, including NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas.
• Experience with databases using SQL or Snowflake.
• Proficiency with Git (GitHub/GitLab) and Linux/macOS environments.
• Knowledge of electrochemical theory (P2D or Doyle-Fuller-Newman models).

Nice to have

• Public contributions to PyBaMM or related GitHub projects.
• Proficiency in using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot) and knowledge of effective prompting techniques.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), or some full-stack development exposure.
