Software Engineer (HITL)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (HITL): Designing, developing, and testing in-house solutions for analysis, simulation, and prototyping of software for hirify.global flight systems with an accent on automated testing for hardware-in-the-loop and hardware-out-of-the-loop. Focus on building scalable, high-performance applications to control and test flight systems and contributing to test automation and CI/CD infrastructure.

Location: Onsite in Hawthorne, CA, USA. Requires U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful, permanent resident, Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or eligibility to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State for ITAR compliance.

Salary: $120,000–$170,000/per year (plus 10% differential up to an additional $15,000 annually for active clearance).

What you will do

• Design and implement automated testing for hardware in the loop (HITL) and hardware out of the loop (HOOTL) software.
• Develop full-stack solutions to manage automated testing of vehicle subsystems.
• Contribute to test automation and CI/CD infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of experience in software development, developing applications in languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
• Experience with automated testing of hardware in the loop (HITL) and hardware out of the loop (HOOTL) software.
• Experience with test automation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance, or ability to successfully obtain and maintain one as a condition of employment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful, permanent resident, Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, for ITAR compliance.

Nice to have

• Professional experience in full-stack development of production web applications.
• Experience with JavaScript libraries such as Lit, React, and Redux.
• Experience with automated build and test frameworks such as Bamboo, Ansible, and Jenkins.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana or Elasticsearch.
• Experience with containerized solutions such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Professional experience with Linux or Unix systems and tools.
• Experience with database systems such as Postgres, MySQL, or Oracle.
