What you will do

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend architectures for mobile and web clients using Node.js and Python.
• Take full end-to-end responsibility for the lifecycle of your services, including deployment on GCP/Firebase and continuous optimization.
• Integrate LLMs and media workflows (STT/TTS, image/video/audio processing), managing model serving and inference performance.
• Architect robust event-driven systems using queues and tasks to handle heavy media and AI workloads.
• Proactively identify bottlenecks and simplify complex architectural challenges to optimize latency, throughput, and costs.
• Ensure production reliability through robust error handling, security best practices, and end-to-end observability in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience as a Backend Engineer, with a track record of building consumer-facing products at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and Python, coupled with a deep understanding of CS fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Firebase, and comfort with production debugging and observability.
• Solid understanding of databases, API design, and security best practices.
• Experience deploying and optimizing AI models in production, including familiarity with external AI APIs.
• Proficiency in English is required for clear communication across cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP specific tools like Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, GKE, BigQuery, or Cloud Functions.
• Familiarity with SSE or WebSockets for real-time communication.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
