Sales Development Representative (Fintech): Acting as the first point of contact for prospective sellers, identifying and qualifying inbound leads, and showcasing the value of Square's ecosystem to diverse businesses with an accent on product knowledge and customer insights. Focus on crafting custom solutions and maintaining current knowledge of the global Square product ecosystem.

Location: Based in Japan, with flexibility to work from the Tokyo office, from home, or hybrid.

What you will do

  • Respond to inbound leads via marketing, product channels, referrals, email, phone, and social media.
  • Determine which customers are a good product fit for Square and prioritize your pipeline.
  • Understand customer requirements and help craft custom solutions.
  • Maintain knowledge of the global Square product ecosystem and how it can help Japanese merchants.
  • Qualify inbound leads and schedule meetings with the Account Executive team.
  • Maintain sales data and documentation using tools including Salesforce.

Requirements

  • Ability to work with Japan-based customers in Japanese (writing and phone) and global Square colleagues in English (reading, writing, and video meetings).
  • A desire to further develop your career in sales.
  • Passion for technology and the industry Square operates in.
  • A growth mindset, keen to be coached and developed within the role.
  • Personal leadership, authenticity, a team-first mentality, energy richness, curiosity.
  • Some experience in a qualifying or prospecting role with the ability to conduct outbound multi-channel outreach.
