Principal Frontend Software Engineer

TL;DR

Principal Frontend Software Engineer: Design, build, evolve and maintain web frontend systems and tools in order to deliver great experiences to users with an accent on building high-performing client code that is fast, testable, scalable, and high quality. Focus on implementing scalable user interface systems, code reviews and documentation, and complex bug fixes.

Location: Remote from Australia or New Zealand with sufficient timezone overlap with the team.

What you will do

• Build high-performing client code that is fast, testable, scalable, and high quality.
• Plan, design, build, and implement scalable user interface systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and managers to understand user pain points.
• Lead code reviews and documentation, and take on complex bug fixes.
• Drive the success of projects, from technical design and implementation to launch and operation.
• Onboard and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with Javascript (ES6), HTML5, CSS, and modern Javascript frameworks (e.g., React, AngularJS, Vue).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferably a Computer Science degree or equivalent experience).
• Understanding of modern frontend ecosystem, including bundling, linting, testing and releasing.
• Experience with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Mocha, Chai).
• Experience building frontend applications at scale.
• Experience engineering software systems of medium-to-large scope and complexity.
