What you will do

• Provide a compelling engineering strategy and roadmap for cloud platform teams.
• Inspire and motivate multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to drive engineering methods, technical decisions, and ways of working.
• Champion modern engineering approaches including agile delivery, automation, observability, platform engineering, and DevOps practices.
• Talent-spot, recruit, and develop engineers across various cloud disciplines.
• Ensure all engineering work meets Bank standards for security, resilience, risk, and change control.

Requirements

• Extensive software engineering background (any modern programming language).
• Strong experience leading large-scale engineering teams in complex organisations.
• Proven experience in cloud-based engineering, preferably Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, or API platforms.
• Deep understanding of modern software engineering lifecycle, DevOps tooling, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.
• Ability to build trust, resolve technical impediments, and facilitate high-quality decision making.
• Must be based in Leeds or London, UK.
