Senior Backend SEIT Lead

TL;DR

Senior Backend SEIT Lead (Automation Testing): Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and implement effective automation testing strategies for mobile applications with an accent on API testing, database technologies, and CI/CD pipelines. Focus on advocating for TDD and Pair Programming, and improving testing outcomes through faster feedback loops.

Location: Remote with adhoc travel to our Manchester office required.

Salary: Up to £500 per day

What you will do

• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to define and implement effective testing strategies for each app feature.
• Prioritise testing activities based on project goals, risk assessment, and business requirements.
• Communicate testing strategies and results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Implement mobile test strategies for faster feedback loops and to improve testing outcomes.
• Advocate for practices such as Test-Driven Development and Pair Programming.

Requirements

• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Experience of automation testing native mobile applications in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong programming skills and experience with an OO language such as Python or JavaScript.
• Experience with Appium and cross device testing on iOS and Android platforms.
• Experience of testing APIs and relational database technologies such as MySQL or similar.
• Experience with source code management and version control (Git/GitHub/GitLab) and modern CI/CD tools.
• Must be able to travel adhoc to our Manchester office.

Nice to have

• Experience in BDD and creating tests using Gherkin syntax.
• Experience working with observability and monitoring tools such as Firebase or similar.
• Experience of non-functional testing in a mobile environment.
