What you will do

• Master customer and subscription records in a new custom database with full sync to existing systems.
• Build a custom pricing service with tiered pricing, customer discounts, bundle logic, and a promotion engine.
• Implement an AI/LLM gateway with rate limiting, cost tracking, and model routing for all AI features.
• Develop a vector database and embeddings infrastructure for semantic search.
• Create an experimentation platform enabling A/B testing on pricing and checkout.
• Design an event-driven architecture processing 100% of subscription lifecycle events.

Requirements

• Experience building platform architecture from scratch.
• Deep experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, Kinesis, or equivalent).
• Strong DevOps/SRE background with a "you build it, you run it" mindset.
• LLM integration experience: embeddings, vector stores, prompt engineering.
• Hands-on coding skills: you still write production code, not just diagrams.
• Track record of progressive refactoring (strangler pattern, not big bang).

Nice to have

• Experience rescuing a troubled platform migration.
• Experience building LLM infrastructure (not just called APIs).
