Senior Houdini FX / Look Dev Artist (Houdini): Creating stunning photoreal dynamic effects for episodic projects with an accent on designing and implementing high-quality water, fire, smoke, and explosions. Focus on integrating developed elements into scenes with lighting and shading, and improving FX processes.

Location: Candidates MUST be located in British Columbia, Canada. This is a remote (work from home) position with the option of working within our studio. Remote positions require a reliable internet connection and working on Pacific Standard Time.

Salary: $8,000–$10,400 CAD monthly

What you will do

• Create photoreal dynamic effects utilizing Houdini.
• Help design, create and implement high quality photo-real effects including Water, Fire, Smoke, Explosions, Clouds, Debris, Magical etc.
• Integrate created elements into scenes with lighting and shading.
• Work with TDs and Pipeline to improve FX processes.
• Document developed technologies.
• Report regularly to the FX Supervisor & Lead for creative approvals, technical or administrative concerns.

Requirements

• 4+ years experience working as a dynamics artist in Film, Commercials, or Episodic Television.
• Advanced knowledge of Houdini.
• Experience with FX Look Dev work.
• Comfortable with R&D for complicated effects.
• A portfolio that demonstrates a variety of photo-real dynamic effects.
• Candidates MUST be located in British Columbia, Canada.
