Senior Compositor

TL;DR

Senior Compositor (VFX): Combining live-action and computer-generated elements into visual effects shots that realise the vision and creative direction of the client and Visual Effects Supervisor, with an accent on aesthetic integrity and technical quality of the final image. Focus on evaluating creative and technical approaches, performing complex compositing tasks, and maintaining overall look and colour balance across sequences.

Location: Hybrid (London, United Kingdom). Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available for this position at this time. Required to work 2 days on-site per week at a Company designated location.

What you will do

• Evaluate the creative and technical approach for assigned shots with supervisors.
• Perform all tasks associated with the compositing process with minimal supervision, including layering, matte extraction, tracking, and colour grading on difficult shots.
• Actively maintain the overall look, colour balance, and quality for assigned shots and sequences.
• Consistently deliver excellent results with minimal supervision and good time management.
• Work proactively with other senior members of the team and across departments.
• Anticipate technical challenges on shots and plan and test solutions for effective, aesthetic, and technically sound results.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Nuke.
• Strong aesthetic skills in judging photo-realism and colour.
• Keen sense of composition, colour and design.
• Familiarity with using Linux systems.
• Experience in a similar level position.
• Effective communication with great interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate resilience and efficiency in meeting time-sensitive goals.
