Manager, Software Engineering (Azure, GenAI): Leading design, implementation, and support of Azure-based data-driven products to fulfill Consulting & Insights Technology strategy with an accent on establishing new data engineering capabilities for standalone products and services. Focus on demonstrating deep knowledge of Azure services, operationalizing data technologies, and mentoring a small team in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Location: In our hybrid work environment, working virtually when productive and getting together with colleagues in a vibrant community. The team operates in a globally distributed setup.

What you will do

• Demonstrate deep knowledge of Azure services and best practices for operationalizing data technologies.
• Establish new data engineering capabilities for standalone data-driven products and services.
• Contribute to business requirements analysis and review detailed technical designs/architecture.
• Perform and participate in code reviews, peer inspections, and technical design/specifications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and innovate new approaches for efficiency.
• Work effectively in a globally distributed team using an Agile/Scrum approach.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience in software development.
• 8-10 years’ experience as a data engineering professional with exposure to GenAI, with a strong track record of developing data-based products using Azure Data Engineering Stack (ADLS, ADF, Azure Databricks, Azure Functions) and Python libraries.
• 2+ years’ experience mentoring a small team and guiding sprint delivery.
• Proficiency in Unity Catalog, Spark, and Azure Databricks for data engineering use cases.
• Proficiency in Python programming, including libraries like Flask/FastAPI, Pandas, and NumPy.
• Proficiency in SQL on relational databases (MySQL/Postgres/SQL Server), and a strong understanding of API development and backend routines in cloud environments.

• Exposure to MosaicAI (Databricks Machine Learning) ecosystem for GenAI and ML use cases.
