What you will do
- Own and operate Square Australia’s Compliance Management System, ensuring its effectiveness and scalability.
- Design, implement, and enhance compliance frameworks covering obligations management, risk assessment, monitoring, and training programs.
- Act as Deputy to the Chief Compliance Officer, providing senior-level advice and support across compliance matters.
- Coordinate and lead compliance risk assessments and manage regulatory change processes.
- Prepare high-quality compliance reporting for senior leadership, governance forums, and regulators.
- Partner closely with Legal, Risk, Product, Operations, and Technology teams to embed compliance into business practices.
Requirements
- Significant experience in compliance roles within financial services, payments, fintech, or regulated technology environments.
- Strong understanding of Australian regulatory frameworks, including AFSL obligations, consumer protection, and conduct risk.
- Demonstrated experience designing, operating, or uplifting Compliance Management Systems.
- Proven ability to operate as a senior individual contributor, influencing outcomes across the business without direct authority.
- Experience leading compliance risk assessments, obligations management, monitoring programs, and issue remediation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex regulatory information clearly.
