What you will do

• Own and operate Square Australia’s Compliance Management System, ensuring its effectiveness and scalability.
• Design, implement, and enhance compliance frameworks covering obligations management, risk assessment, monitoring, and training programs.
• Act as Deputy to the Chief Compliance Officer, providing senior-level advice and support across compliance matters.
• Coordinate and lead compliance risk assessments and manage regulatory change processes.
• Prepare high-quality compliance reporting for senior leadership, governance forums, and regulators.
• Partner closely with Legal, Risk, Product, Operations, and Technology teams to embed compliance into business practices.

Requirements

• Significant experience in compliance roles within financial services, payments, fintech, or regulated technology environments.
• Strong understanding of Australian regulatory frameworks, including AFSL obligations, consumer protection, and conduct risk.
• Demonstrated experience designing, operating, or uplifting Compliance Management Systems.
• Proven ability to operate as a senior individual contributor, influencing outcomes across the business without direct authority.
• Experience leading compliance risk assessments, obligations management, monitoring programs, and issue remediation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex regulatory information clearly.
