What you will do

• Act as the accountable expert for payroll compliance in your assigned jurisdiction(s).
• Embed statutory rules, payroll logic, tax calculations, and edge cases into structured product requirements for the global payroll platform.
• Lead complex multi-country or high-risk audits from planning through remediation and establish scalable audit frameworks.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for compliance issues, supporting incident resolution and implementing preventative actions.
• Design and implement clear, scalable processes and governance frameworks for payroll compliance operations.
• Build training materials, guidance, and rules documentation to upskill internal teams and foster compliance capability.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Support to embed compliance into decision-making and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in payroll and employment compliance for your country/region, with a strong understanding of how legislation translates into payroll calculations and system logic.
• Proven track record leading audits, regulatory reviews, or country-level compliance programs.
• Experience partnering with technical teams to convert statutory rules into product requirements.
• Strong communicator capable of influencing stakeholders across various departments and Senior Leadership.
• Confidence in investigating high-risk scenarios with sound judgment.
• A mentor and coach who can grow the capability of a team.
• A systems thinker who designs scalable frameworks, documentation, processes, and controls.
• Comfortable operating in an asynchronous, fast-changing, fully hirify.global environment.
