What you will do
- Provide pragmatic, risk-balanced legal advice on U.S. employment law matters to the People Team.
- Respond to demand letters, administrative charges, and other disputes, including investigation, negotiation, and drafting agreements.
- Monitor new U.S. employment laws and provide strategic, proactive advice.
- Draft employee-facing policies, handbooks, and lead training events on employment law.
- Manage outside counsel for employment litigation and global projects, including budget and strategy.
- Support employment-related aspects of mergers, acquisitions, commercial, and procurement deals.
Requirements
- JD from a top-tier accredited institution.
- Licensed to practice law in Washington State, California, Colorado, Illinois, Virginia, New York, or Massachusetts.
- 10+ years of employment law and litigation experience, with a strong preference for in-house experience.
- Fluency in translating legal advice into practical, business-oriented guidance.
- Experience supporting business operations and partnering with the People Team/HR across multiple locations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
