Head of People & Culture Endel
📍 Berlin (On-site)
Endel — an award-winning sound wellness company using generative AI to help people focus, relax, and sleep — is hiring a Head of People & Culture.
The company operates globally with a highly international and interdisciplinary team. HQ: Berlin.
This is Endel’s first dedicated People role, offering a rare opportunity to build the People & Culture function from the ground up and directly shape the company’s culture, systems, and employee experience.
What You Will Do
1. People Strategy & Business Partnering
— Translate business strategy into scalable people processes and practices
— Support and coach leaders on performance, feedback, conflict resolution, and people decisions
— Act as a strategic People Partner to leadership and managers
— Advise on organizational design, team structures, role clarity, and growth paths
2. Culture, Feedback & Employee Experience
— Design and implement performance, feedback, and development processes
— Foster psychological safety, inclusion, and healthy collaboration
— Serve as a trusted, confidential sparring partner for employees
3. People Operations & Foundations
— Own employment contracts, amendments, and HR documentation
— Manage onboarding and offboarding processes end-to-end
— Ensure compliance with German and EU labor requirements (with advisors where needed)
— Build and maintain clear, pragmatic HR policies and people guidelines
4. Systems & Infrastructure
— Select, implement, and manage Endel’s HR systems
— Set up clean people data, reporting structures, and documentation
— Collaborate with Finance & Operations on payroll interfaces, headcount planning, and reporting
Who You Are
— 7+ years of experience in People, HR Business Partnering, or People Operations
— Experience as a first HR hire or working in a fast-growing startup/scale-up
— Comfortable operating without an existing HR function or playbook
— Strong coaching, advisory, and communication skills
— Passionate about wellness and sound
— Fluent in English (German is a plus)
— Russian language skills are a strong advantage
— Solid understanding of German employment law (directly or via advisors)
