Engineer II, Language & Runtime (Cybersecurity): Building and optimizing the LogScale query language and its execution pipeline for a highly distributed system that ingests petabytes of data daily with an accent on extending language capabilities and improving performance. Focus on scaling to massive data ingress volumes, maintaining best-in-class SLAs, and becoming an expert in LogScale architecture.

What you will do
- Design, develop, and deliver new features for the LogScale platform.
- Develop the LogScale backend in Scala to ensure high availability and scalability for increasing data ingest.
- Contribute to improving the LogScale query language user experience and execution pipeline performance.
- Provide technical advice, research new technologies, and contribute to internal documentation.
- Collaborate with the team through code reviews, pairing, and design discussions.
- Monitor released features in production and troubleshoot critical production issues.
Requirements
- Passion for distributed systems and curiosity about system performance.
- Experience in software development and pragmatic trade-offs between short-term delivery and long-term product goals.
- Experience in contributing to broad technical leadership in products or services.
- Fluency in both functional and object-oriented programming.
- Ability to pick up new languages quickly.
Nice to have
- Experience programming in Scala.
- Experience with commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with compilers and language design.
- Hands-on experience in large-scale (distributed) system architecture, high scalability, and optimization.
- Exposure to or experience with Log Management or cybersecurity products.
