Location: Hybrid work (twice a week in office) in London, Berlin, or Cologne

What you will do

• Serve as a linguistic and cultural advisor, collaborating with various stakeholders from Research to Product and Sales.
• Test and evaluate hirify.global’s products and their features both before and after launch.
• Assess the linguistic quality of data generated by both humans and machines.
• Work with Language Data & Insights and Research to ensure the quality of linguistic data used to train models.
• Design tests and examples to identify suitable freelance linguists and provide actionable feedback on their work.
• Investigate and analyze user-submitted language complaints and explain linguistic phenomena to diverse audiences.

Requirements

• Fluent Mandarin speaker with an educational background from China.
• Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, translation, foreign languages, language teaching, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience working in translation, localization, linguistics, education, or a related field.
• English fluency (C1+).
• Expert understanding of Mandarin language from a linguistic perspective and ability to break down complex matters.
• Experience working with machine translation and identifying common error patterns.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or higher in a related field (or Bachelor’s with 4+ years of industry experience).
• Fluency (B2+) in at least one other foreign language.
• Basic understanding of LLMs, NLP, AI, and experience with AI prompting.
• Teaching experience.
