Fraud Analyst (Fintech)

TL;DR

Fraud Analyst (Fintech): Protecting customers and the bank from fraud in real time by using data, and ensuring a smooth experience for genuine customers with an accent on detecting and responding to fraud patterns quickly. Focus on improving fraud controls across onboarding and transactions, and reducing losses while balancing customer experience.

Location: Hybrid role requires you to come to our London office 2-3 days a week. You'll also have the option of working from abroad for up to 120 days a year, subject to having the right to work in the country of choice.

What you will do

• Monitoring fraud dashboards and data across products.
• Investigating unusual patterns or spikes in activity.
• Using SQL and Python to explore data and answer urgent questions.
• Designing, testing, and improving fraud rules and controls.
• Feeding real-time analytical insight into fraud blocks and interventions.
• Working closely with Fraud Strategy, Operations, Product, and Engineering.

Requirements

• Demonstrated analytical curiosity and rigour.
• Advanced SQL experience.
• Experience using Python for analysis, or clear willingness to learn.
• A passion for data accuracy and analytical rigour.
• Ability to explain analytical thinking clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Curiosity about customer behaviour and how fraud manifests in data.
