What you will do

• Explore hardware-software combinations to optimize renewable energy asset production and consumption within grid constraints.
• Design and analyze control logic to optimize renewable energy assets while adhering to safety and operational requirements.
• Investigate the robustness of cloud-based and local control mechanisms across various operational conditions.
• Research how additional communication protocols could support a wider range of renewable asset types.
• Assess the technical and operational impact of developing parts of the hardware-software layer in-house.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and platform teams to explore ideas and validate assumptions.
• Translate technical insights into clear documentation, recommendations, and prototypes or proof-of-concepts.

Requirements

• Must be a Master’s student in a technical or engineering field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Energy Systems).
• Must be eligible to do an internship in the Netherlands.
• Must be available from February/March 2026 for a minimum duration of 4 months.
• Strong interest in renewable energy, smart grids, and energy optimization.
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working with technical concepts concerning energy system hardware and software.
