Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager (Software): Leading a product engineering team to build, operate, and improve software for hirify.global digital products and platform capabilities with an accent on delivering high-quality software outcomes and driving healthy engineering practices. Focus on elegant abstractions, robust APIs, and continuous improvement across the product portfolio.

Location: Remote (UK). This role is open to anywhere in the UK. You can work remotely from within the UK or work in a hybrid or in-office model from our London office.

What you will do

• Build and lead a product engineering team, fostering ownership and continuous improvement.
• Deliver high-quality software across feature delivery, reliability, security, and operational excellence.
• Build, optimize, and maintain internal and/or consumer-facing tools and services.
• Guide the design of elegant abstractions, shareable libraries, and robust APIs.
• Partner with product managers, design, and other stakeholders to test and ship features continuously.
• Drive healthy engineering practices including planning, incident response, postmortems, and observability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of industry engineering experience, with 3+ years focusing on fullstack application development.
• 2+ years in a people management position.
• Proven experience writing, deploying, and running production services and/or distributed systems.
• Experience in API design and building services with clear separation of concerns.
• Experience with RDBMS such as Postgres or MySQL.
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Working knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging queue systems.

Nice to have

• Preference for Golang experience.
• Working knowledge of GraphQL and gRPC.
